Born in San Antonio, Texas, Catie spent the last 13 years working in theaters as an actor, director, and writer. For education she attended San Antonio College to study Theater and Dance where she starred as Emily in Our Town and played Gymnasia in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. While working on her degree she joined the Windcrest Fire Department as a Firefighter and later, EMT. After receiving an associate degree in Theater and Dance she studied anatomy and medical terminology. She attended the University of Texas at San Antonio to receive a bachelor's degree in Communication. At UTSA, Catie participated in the Women’s Choir and was the president of the Storytellers Club.
During and after school Catie participated in theaters around San Antonio such as The Overtime Theatre, an original works theater. In such, she had the opportunity to experience several aspects of theater including musicals, serial-type episodic shows, comedy improv (short and long form), stage combat and straight plays. Some of her acting credits include Jira in the serial show Rift Riders at The Overtime Theatre, Virginia in Nevermore at The Roxy Theatre, and Anna in A Bright New Boise at The Public Theater of San Antonio. She has been most recently seen in West Side Story as ensamble and Anybody’s swing at The San Pedro Playhouse in San Antonio. She worked at the Magik Theatre as a teacher and director and has written over 20 short children’s plays. Through the Magik Theatre and Center Stage PossABILITIES, Catie had the opportunity to direct Lion of Judah which had a cast of 12 children with special needs.
In 2018 Catie Carlisle moved to NYC to work as a teacher where she joined a group of talented writers to share and develop her plays. Her projects include working through NYC Writers Group to produce readings of several scripts as well as workshopping a full production of her script, 100 Days, with Scantic River Productions in March 2022. She was also honored to have her script, Overlap, produced by The Overtime Theater in November 2022. She graduated from The Shakespeare Theater Company Academy at George Washington University to receive her MFA in Classical Acting in 2023.
Her most recent projects include a production of her full-length movement drama, That Night at The Overtime Theater, participation in Scantic River Production’s 10 Minute Play festivals with her scripts, They’ll Tell You and Office Parties, as well as monthly shorts for Living Radio NYC. She was most recently seen acting in the San Antonio 48 film fest, receiving the award for Best Actress 2025. Outside of acting and writing, Catie Carlisle has been working as a production designer for vertical films such as What Doesn’t Break Me, In Love with a Single Farmer Daddy (#1 ranked for the 2025 holiday season), and The Summer My Heart Stopped.
